These recordings are offered mainly for demonstration purposes rather than as finished works; they are intended for study and to encourage other keyboard players to take up the challenge of learning and performing the suite. They do not necessarily represent the composer's ideal vision in terms of tempo, phrasing, and the like. The Prelude is the most successful realization in this regard, and the Balkan Dance is the least so. The MIDI recordings (realized with Modartt Pianoteq), though somewhat lacking in nuance, represent the composer's original intent as to tempo and duration, and, to a degree, phrasing.
